xciting...First of all..can you please reword your last two posts above. I would request you to write proper and complete phrases. Remember, you are posting on a public profile. What you post here will be read by many others. I for one can't understand what you have written...
Write out your stuff without the SMS lingo... I want comprehensible statements.
But for starters..Canadian universities (barring McGill, SFU and UBC), do not require GRE...

ok here im rewording my previous post
sorry for using obscure sms lingo in public domain im sorry i have just got used to it bacause of excessive smsing
first i want to thank ON for all his efforts to help me.the link you gave me in ur previous was very helpful.it cleared my doubts to an extent
but there r few more doubts which i want to get clarified
to start with,i ll first provide details abt my educatinal qualifications
i finished my electrical and electronics engineering degree this may.
the % i scored each semester is
semester %
1 72.57
2 69.125
3 61.625
4 61.5
5 61.75
6 64.5
7 68.375
8 72
avg % is 66.43%
i took toefl(cbt) this may and i scored 273/300
one of my online friend told me that though GRE is not required for most of the canadian universities, a good GRE score can boost the chances of getting into good universities. since i dont have a good academic,he advised me to take GRE as it may increase my chances of securin a seat in good university. So i ve registered for GRE. From my performance in the mock GREs i feel i ll be landing up with a score in the range of 1350-1450
i did my final year project in Neyveli Lignite Corporation(nlc), south india's major power plant. my project title was "implementation of plc in bucketwheel excavator system"
i have a 15days in-plant trainin certificate from chennai port trust
thats all abt my educational qualifications
i want to continue my higher studies in canada. i want to do MS.I know my engineering scores are bit low.So that means all the major universities like UBC UofT UofWaterloo Uof Ottawa are ruled out
can anyone suggest me the universities in which i can secure a seat
im applying for fall07 program only so that means there is a 1yr break i wan to utilise this break in a positive hence im plannin to do sun certified java and J2EE course and also a frence course
im not sure about selecting which field of specialisation too
during college days i enjoyed studyin digital signal processing, digital electronics, transmission and distribution and power system analysis. So can u tell me the MS programs realated to these fields and also specify the fields which is hot in canada rightnow
Now the prev post was about selecting university, the confusion i have in that section
this one is about getting funds and post MS
first afetr seeing my scores do u people think i can get TA/RA?? if the answer is NO , is it possible to sustain life without TA/RA?? if i study without TA/RA will it affect me in ways other than $$ too like i wont be able to publish papers etc..
i plan to get bank loan for my canadian education which i hope i can repay by working there
is it possible to find part-time off campus(if i dont get any on-campus).i heard that in some universities workin off-campus has been made legal.
if i ve sun certification can i take up TA post for java courses though i ll be studyin MS in electrical field. in general terms, can i take up TA post in a dept different from my own dept if i ve proper knowledge backed up by valued certificates
the best thing to do is go to websites of the universities such as University of Alberta. Edmonton etc . not very high ranked but good univ.
Then look for the proff. profiles suited to your choice. write to them personally and tell them about yourself and also that u want to pursue MS in their area of research, if they can accept you as a research student.
I had done my Bachelor's in India with chemical Engg. from Univ. Of Roorkee[now IIT roorkee] and when I came here I applied for M.Sc. and contacted the proff at U of T to see if he has any research as per my profile. Fortunately I got admission and fellowship for 2 yrs, so i did not spend a penny,
The best way wud be to email proff. in ur field of interest. Here they try to reply[unlike INDIA] asap.
good luck
somebody clear this doubt
i ve had backlogs durin my engineerin course infact i have had a lot of them but i eventually cleared them all now
while i apply for university will this come into play??? if yes how much it ll affect me???
anyways i ve had loads of backlogs all along
1st sem 1paper which i cleared in 2nd sem
2nd sem 1paper which i cleared in 4thsem
3rd sem 3papers of which 2in 4th n in 5th sem
4th sem i had broken heart so totally messed up failed in all 6 theory papers i wrote that sem of which 3 i cleared in 5th sem 1 in 6th 1 in 7th 1 in 8th
5th sem was come back sem i had 1 backlog which i cleared in 7th sem
6th sem 2papers of which 1 in 7th sem and the other in 8th sem
7th sem 1 which i cleared in 8th sem
8th sem no backlogs
thats my case history now somebody tell me does this history backlogs ve grave effects on my chances to obtain a seat in an univ say univ of alberta or univ of calgery
