First question: Who are we to tell them how to lead their lives? Every civilization / culture has values which may be different from ours and may be considered bad/abhorrent/despicable/(insert your word here). Killing baby girls is THEIR decision. The majority of the people who kill their baby girls live in abject poverty , for them letting the girl live may seem like too harsh a punishment to give to the little kid.
Second Question: When is the last time you SACRIFICED something of value to support your beliefs? When you believe in something and do NOTHING when somebody acts against that belief what is the value of your belief? If you consider yourself powerless to change the world then why waste time on beliefs?

no intention of fighting .....
you say people who get abortions live in abject poverty ....
( people who live in poverty can they afford to pay the costs of abortion ????? ) ...
also what will happen if everybody starts killing girls in the womb or after birth .....
I am wondering what will happen to the lineage then .....

As for continuing lineage, I think it's a deeper issue in that you as an individual don't want to die and not leave anything of yourself behind...but if you have children, well that's your legacy isn't it? But I think that's deep biological stuff that is inbedded in us.

Actually the declining birth rate in western societies may yet make this a necessity. Lesser kids means depleting future work force. When the number of people depending on social security(pensions, medicare etc) is significantly larger than the number of people supporting the system (i.e the active workforce)...this places pressure on the social security system as is the likely future for many western countries.

So if the social security system cannot be sustained...people will probably have to work even into their old age to care for themselves adequately.
A case of reaping what we sow OR is it not reaping what we dont sow?
Ofcourse we can always import future generations of workers...afterall, thats how we immigrants got here.
