Is there a particular format for work experience letters from India..?
Does Delhi CHC require both the appointment as well as the work experience letters or will just the work exerience letter do.Does a business card have to be enclosed with the letter? Should the letter be sealed or can it be kept open.
Lastly, does the CHC refer to the firm in India?(Call or contact them).
Any help welcome. Thanks.
I strongly suggest that you read the RPC specific instruction document for the New Delhi post - available at the following URL:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applications/skilled-mission.html
This will answer all your questions and more.
You should not even *dream* of submitting your application without reading this document several times over.
In answer to your question, refer to page 3 section 7, and note the following:
WORK EXPERIENCE
For you and your spouse or common-law partner:
• notarized employment contracts from your present and past employers, accompanied by an
English or French translation
• Original and up-to-date letters of reference from your past and current employers. Letters must
be written on company letterhead and show the company’s full address, telephone and fax numbers,
and be stamped with the company’s official seal.
Letters must include all of the following information:
• the specific period of your employment with the company
• the positions you have held during the period of employment and the time spent in each position
• your main responsibilities in each position
• your total annual salary plus benefits
• the signature of your immediate supervisor or the personnel officer of the company
• a business card of the person signing
If you cannot provide a reference from your current employer, provide a written explanation.
Hope this helps.

Thanks pratick,
I was on a fellowship at graduate school in the US for a year after which i was a grad. research assistant for a year. I was paid hourly (20 hrs/week) as a Grad assistant while i received a flat bi-yearly stipend as a fellow.
Will my research work on a fellowship count as work experience.? Or will my work as a grad assistant be counted...?
also, will the i year 20 hrs/week count as 6 months' work experience..?
Thanks.
I know that part time work converts at the rate of 38 hrs. = 1 week of full time work, I think.
As for accounting for your work experience during your education, I think you need to consult an immigration lawyer.
These things can be tricky and if not done correctly, you can end up overestimating the points.
Best to seek expert advice.
Most immigration lawyers offer free points evaluation and I suggest you make use of such a service.
After that it is up to you whether you want to hire the law firm or do it on your own.
IMO, if a law firm does not offer free point evaluation, you should not consider them.

thanks a lot again pratick!
is there a format for a typical work experience letter, and does the CHC Delhi check with the previous employers...?
Could somebody applying from Delhi or India help me with this..?
Thanks.
To answer your question about letter format, refer here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applications/skilled-mission.html
There is no standard form, but the RPC guide tells you what information such a letter should have.
The format does not matter as long as all the required information is there.
I had applied in Buffalo and my experience letters were all different formats (depending on company), but they all had the required information.
