Regarding finding out the local options available to you, the best way is to contact the local section of ASQ. The section chair or certification chair will be able to guide you, or at least connect with someone who has already passed the certificate you are looking for.

Personally, I am not a big fan of room based training. Making a study group (physical or virtual) and having study primer will be good enough to help you pass the exam.

I still recommend spending $200 for primer instead of spending $2000 or more for room based training.

I have got ASQ' s CQIA certification in june-2007. Still am jobless in as a Lab Tech Position. I spent $2200 in Humber. Membership and exam fees $500. and books etc. $300.

I think ASQ is a money making business. Certifications are valid for 1 year only. You have recertify them at certain period.

So once you enter there, you have to keep spending.

Some companies consider the certification, some don't. I have observed increase in interview calls after this humber course and certification. Again humber is money making institute.
