Sifarsen,
PEOs eligibility criteria clearly state that in your experience summary they want to see your technical and engineering expertise where your engineering curiculum has been used.
I have done my Mech Engg but always worked on ERP applications for Asset Management eg SAP,Infor etc.I have good experience in Plant Maintenance so in this case I would need to show some projects in Reliability Enginerring where I can prove that I have used my engineering education.
I am in the same boat as even I have done Project Planning, Costing for oil and gas sectors using these softwares.
PEO wants to clearly see the difference between engineering professionals and quasi technical applicants.
Hope this clears all your doubts.
thanx jack for ur reply....well,as a matter of fact I started my career in execution works in infrastructure construction, and gradually moved on to project management...so,the basic technology or the engineering used, has been the same as taught in the engg. college, only that ...the present day construction technique is much more advanced than what we have been taught in engg colleges...neway..thanx for your insight...by the way...how long did it take you to pass the P.E. exam...is there any training or coaching centre for such professional exams in toronto...
check the following link. I took few courses for PEO technical exam from them.

Ther may be few more too. Aprart from that some Collages/universites like Humber, Ryerson might organize courses for PEO Technical Exam as a part of Licensing requirments if at all you are put through their Confirmatory exam program.
I also think it wouldnt hurt if you took couple of courses from them for the subjects which you liked in university just to refresh your book knowledge and then apply for PEO licence since you alredy have acquired 10 years experience they will most likely call you for a technical interview then may be you have better chance in passing the inteview. Just my opinion.
However i didn't approach that way may be when i realized it was too late since i alredy had applied for PEO licence in few months after landing in Canada.
When i came in here i had about 5.0 years similar experience like yourself started as Site Engineer with a Contractor and them moved on to Project Executation & Management.
thanx jagmag for your reply...I really appreciate the help provided by you...Its always better to have gone through a preparatory course first and then apply for the P.E. license exam...Right now I am in abu dhabi and I am thinking of completing my PMP course in project management from PMI,US....any suggestions..god bless
