Last I shopped around, which was in Jan 09, I found Desjardins http://www.desjardinsgeneralinsurance.com/d-qc/en/info-centre/faq/auto/pages/list-auto.aspx and State Farm http://www.statefarm.ca/ to be the cheapest.

I went with State Farm. Let me know if you need my agent's name and number.

It will be also better if you get hold of an insurance broker who can help you shop around too.

Johnson's insurance is among the least expensive, but they require full G license with atleast 3 years of insurance, before they consider your application.
