Refugee claimants and immigrants pay more taxes than Canadian citizens once they've resettled in the country, according to a government study.
The study, which was finished last September but just recently released, said immigrants "pay more in taxes than the cost of the welfare services and schooling they use."
The refugees and landed immigrants, after five years in Canada, pay about $2,500 more in taxes yearly than Canadian citizens. The study, which doesn't say how much immigrants earn, said the average Canadian income before taxes is about $27,000.
"These people are hard workers who take nothing for granted," he said. "They give more than they take economically."

Yeah.. most of us know by now that immigrants are needed in this country to feed the older Canadians, to provide money for those on welfare....:(

OR . You know what the country offers, If you want it then you have to pay the price...and rightfully claim your place in this society. If you think you do not want to support the country and its social system, stay back in Dubai where you do not have to pay any taxes and dont have to worry about supporting the country...because it will never be yours.
There is no free lunch in life.

What is mentioned by me and the preceeding poster is the same thing...only different ways of thinking. Each immigrant faces the same choice...to accept this place and be part of it OR not accept it and go back to where they are more comfortable. A very personal choice.
