Anybody applied in first week of March this year and received any communication?

A friend who applied to the Mississauga center in February got the acknowledgment at the end of July. (around 7 months)

Hi,

I applied on June-2009 - Mississauga, i got a letter from CIC after one month, indicated we recieved your application and will take 12-18 months as a part of procedure.

Is this a acknowledgment or just application recieving letter from their side? Honestly i don't know, and i didn't get chance to call CIC.

If anyone know about it, please throw a light on this......

How can you apply to Mississauga? Are not we supposed to send our application to 'Case processing center' Sydney first? Or you sent it through KOLBE group?

My online status showing 'received'. What is next?

I applied in April 2009 (Calgary) and still waiting for file number or any communication from CIC NS.
