I know of Canada's used..Matress regulations but what about a New Mattress & Duvets ? Have any of you had experience of it being refused by customs?
Dont want to buy an exp mattress and then have Canadian customs throw it away ..
What makes you think they might throw it away?

wow that was quick
It happened to a friend of mine who recently moved from Dxb but his was a used Mattress..However he said..Strictly Dont bring Mattresses ...
Well, I had brought in a 3 year used mattress (used in Indonesia - a country not as clean as DBX) and I did not have any problem. I am still using the mattress and loving it after a 12 yr use.

I had shipped my Furniture here w/o the Mattresses and regretted doing that since Day 1.
Here they just go by 2 sizes, Queen and King.
In Dubai the sizes are Single (6 x 3 ft) and Double (6 x 6 ft), but here Length and Breadth on the Queen and King do not Match here and are different.

When the going gets tough, the tough gets going!!!
Dude just dispose off ur furniture and buy it here.. u will end up paying more in freight and movings costs than it would cost to buy new here.
This is what Canadian Border Services Agency says:
Used or second-hand mattresses http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/pub/bsf5082-eng.html
You cannot import used or second-hand mattresses into Canada unless you have a certificate verifying that the mattresses have been cleaned and fumigated in the country of export. A letter, or any other document that clearly demonstrates that this requirement has been met, is acceptable if it is signed by a person qualified in cleaning and fumigation.
