Clothes are far more expensive here than in India. I'd recommend that you bring as much clothing as you can from India, including bed sheets, pillow covers etc.
Try and bring a pressure cooker with you. The Indian type cookers available at the Indian stores here cost 4-5 times what they cost in India.
If you have a GSM cell phone, bring that too :-)
Is it advisible to get office wear (shirts trousers and suits) from India . Are brands like Van Heusen and Zodiac acceptable or make u feel out of place ? While buying / getting suits stitched in India wud the pure wool quality suffice as office wear ??
I ask this as , some one from GTA advised me against bringing office wear from India coz as per him the clothes / material available in Canada were different (wrinkle free and all needing less ironing) and he said that wearing office wear from India would make 1 stand out of the crowd rather than gel in . Is that true??
Manasvi.
There is absolutely no problem in getting office wear from India. You could possibly get all wool raymond suits from India. Although it is expensive, it is good value for money. Most of the leading brands in India manufacture wrinkle free office wear.
Most of the textiles as it is come from the subcontinent or from China. You could possibly buy snow jackets in Canada which as is do not cost much.

Thanks india one ,
U have dispelled the doubt .
May I ask - is it better & practical 2 bring a mattress & comforter from India as the same I have heard are pretty expensive in Canada vis-a-vis India .
Manasvi.
as far as mattress and comfortoter you have liqudation store. Sears has theirs where you can get same thing for half price. are you going to get stuff that will follow you?
For winter clothing, it's better to get it in Canada. And you could get a duvet from Walmart for a reasonable price too.
