I need to travel to UK for an important family event and checking the Airticket prices on most common online sites - the cheapest I am getting is $1065 for travelling sometime on AUG 30 which does not suit me. I am looking earlier and the prices are generally in $1400 range --- almost same cost to travel to India.

The only criteria I have is travelling on Monday morning (Toronto time) and return on wednesday late evening (UK time) - in the next 2-3 weeks only.

Anyone know of any current deals for cheaper tickets?

Gatwick or Heathrow doesn't matter.

Is flying out of the US an option for you?
Can you, for example, fly out of Chicago, New York, Buffalo and Detroit?

I can drive to Buffalo - but for chicago - I will have to fly...need to add it to cost of the ticket.

I found 1 Air India ticket for $1156.00....still looking.

Seems end of summer...busy time for Air travel.

Try Detroit and Buffalo.
Also try Manchester instead of London.
BMI flies there and you may get a better deal.
Because you are restricting your departure and arrival dates and time, you will not get the cheapest possible fare.
Try flexible travel options and see what you can come up with.
For example, can you fly Tuesday and return Thu.?
Travelocity has flexible travel options that you can play with.
