I took some steps as per website mentioned below by enbridge.
https://portal-plumprod.cgc.enbridge.com/enbridge/files/efficiency_facts_winter.pdf
Pratickm,
we have digital meter and as i mentioned eariler we are in this house only 5 months now, so i don't have old bills to compare for particular month, but now i am keeping eye on it and Hope this month we will be ok.
rgds
me too same shock when i saw my bill- normally my bill from Embridge used to come around $93 and last month its around $177 - big difference. when i called them, they say it was the coldest month.
Since you are using your water heater for heating the house , you should opt for high efficiency water heater ( link posted below ) . Even though the rent on these water is above 40 $ sbut still you will save money at the end of the day

Hi all CD's,
Today we recieved the Gas bill from Enbridge and we noticed its drastically charges are increase compare to last year, like "deliver to you" and "trasporation charges" increased by almost $18 on deliver to you charges and $13 on Transporatation charges.
My last monthly bill was around $60.22 and this month bill is $119.73.
This is our first winter in home is it normal in winter time to increased in gas usage by almost 4 times more compare to Dec. 2010.
Our usage on Dec 2010 was 197 Meter cube and this month in Jan-2011 usage is 397 meter cube.
does anyone have similiar experience or may i have gas leaks problem or something? We didn't smell any gas leakage inside the house.
your reply will be highly appriciated.
Regards
