Guys,
I am planning to install a furnace & ducting in a house that has no duct work and heating is electric baseboard heaters. I would appreciate if you guys can refer some contractors with good reputation and who would do the job at a fair price. BTW the house is in Toronto West end.
Thanks in advance.
If you are going to stay in the house yourself than it wiser to get Forced air furnace but if you are planning to sell this house shortly that go for Air handler system which utilizes hot water to warm the house . It is more efficient and you can simply rent the WH . This will save your initial installation cost of furnace . Downside of this system is that when WH breaks down , the house will have no heat either .
You MUST hire someone who can do heat loss calculation before you jump into buying a furnace and get your ducts laid .
I know my reply is deviated from your original Q but I hope that will help you a little with your decision .
Good Luck
AG
