Hi All Desi's,
I've almost completed 2 years in Canada (GTA) and have changed 3 jobs mainly due to lack of job satisfaction (stress, bad boss, different skill set) etc.
I am hearing that Truck Drivers make a good money. So, is Truck driving worthwhile. Whether I should take a plunge. What say ???
All honest answers/opinions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
I have some of my friends who own and operate logistics companies, while they appear to be doing well, it comes at a very considerable cost.
There is a chance, you may not like my response. stress, bad boss, skill set issues are part and parcel of every job. In my 15 years of work environment, I don't think these problems stayed in long term. Ofcourse, for a short term though.
Both the good and bad time never last for ever.

Sorry to hear your experiences. A lot depends on what your current expertese/field is as well age, health, family etc. In the long run, I think getting into truck driving would be benefitial e.g. you can own your truck and trucking company and become a good boss.
Good luck!
Thanks for valuable insight.
Well, I'm nearing 40 now and have a family. Have worked mainly in call centers, in fact, working in one right now. Can you pls advise about some good truck driving schools in Brampton/Mississauga.
Also, if any desi's have good contacts in trucking industry, it would be useful to me for guidance and career redirection.
I am reminded of famous words ......... NO POWER CAN STOP THE IDEA, WHOSE TIME HAS COME......
Thanks.

I will only say that check 100 times before you sign up for any training......
I agree with other post that this is part of life........Stress..Anger....and what not...Some times we dont get the right resrouces or right information on what we can do......career wise....
Thoughts of career change comes to mind only when you are completely dissatisfied with your current one including money you earn. Seems to me Sharma ji is going through the same thought process.
In my view, if you do not like what you do today, go for a change. You may not like the change, it may be very difficult to succeed in new career (sply trucking is difficult and takes its own 'toll'...on health and family life ) but at least you will have satisfaction that you tried elsewhere.
One thing for sure, I have rarely heard of any trucker not making money, thats one positive of this profession.
- To take informed decision, you should start networking with truckers in your friend circle, somewhere you will find friend of friend of friend . It is important to listen from known horse's mouth and of course since every profession has its pitfalls , he should be able to tell.
