Hi
I want to help my mother who is in India and lives in India, financially. Also I have a baby, for whom I spent money on day care. I live in Ontario.
I have learnt Government gives tax credit for such support but not sure how that works. Also what is the preferred way to send money to India and claim tax credit.
Thanks
You can not claim on tax for money that you send to india to support your parents. You can claim day care expense, child sports activity expense to your income tax. Simply provide those receipts to your accountant when you file income tax. If you are planning to file your income tax by your own, then go through canada revenue agency's website for reference.
