Hi, any tips on what to do in ottawa besides the usual tourist spots. Any specific desi things or restaurants or holy place to visit and some spots which are not advertisied and only a local would know.

Do not miss Sound and Light show on Parliament Hill called Mosaika is the story of Canada. It is unforgettable experience. It is presented nightly from July 6 to Sepetember 3rd and it is free.

If you have kids you may want to visit Calypso Theme water park. It is half hour drive from ottawa. Besides that do not forgot to visit Royal Canadian Mint and change of the gaurd ceremony on Parliament hill. Enjoy your trip.
