Like if someone is planning to move there, what is the best area to buy house, school, college, transit facilities.

I am in ottawa there are lot of places to live in. Orleans in East and Kanata little bit expensive in west and Bar heaven and lot of other places to live in.
BTW where are you and what type of jobs you are looking for.
I am in ottawa for the last three years. But Alberta is one of the best choice for new comers.
Anyway choice is yours.Ottawa is nice city to live in..........lot of desis here

depends on ur choice, like daisy said kanata is expensive bco'z most of the industialized are. orleans is really gud with some french ppl and u'll find more desi in barheaven n kanata.
i'm in orleans from last 3 yrs n i love it. abt the transit service, ottawaz transit service is best in N America.

Can you please tell me how far will be orleans/ Kanata from Downtown.

also, is there any new homes already or in building phase in those areas, additionally do we need to make a note of school ranking or all of the school(public) are same in terms of ranking in Ottawa.

downtown is almost at same distance from there. yes there are new homes in both areas. about the schools, all r same.

how long it would take to drive to downtown?

Upto 20-25 minutes or so, depending upon where you start from and where you are going.
