Hi,
I am planning to open a chq act. for basic everyday banking usage, such as bill payments, pre-auth debits, etc.
How does the service of ICICI Bank compare to that of PC Financial? Is it easy to resolve disputes/errors over the phone, since PC doesn't have any dedicated branches apart from small kiosks in the Superstores.
Howz the service in ICICI?
Need some feedbacks please!!
Thanks

If you can maintain a minimum balance of 5000 $ than TD Select account is the best . It offers you free banking including cheques , certified cheques and deposit box besides free CC VISA - US and Canada .
As for PC financial if I am not mistaken you can go to CIBC branches when required .

Hands down PC financial is the cheapest option. You hardly need to visit the bank since you can have most transactions done at the ATM. The only reasons you will ever need to walk into a branch are for Certified cheques or Banker's cheques. In those cases, they will mail to your address (takes 2-3 days). You dont need any deposit in the account to maintain free chequing (unlimited transactions), free phone and online banking. Also their PC mastercard gives your points for free grocery.
Once you have enough balance and can maintain a deposit of $5000, TD bank is a good option with flexible and convenient hours in addition to all the online banking facilities.
Stay as far away from ICICI bank as possible.
Good luck.

Thanks!
I have my primary bank acc with TD, this secondary acc would be for car ins pre-auth debits, bill payments, etc.
The only concern regarding PC is that in case of any errors/problems during bill payments or PAD's, how good are they in resolving those issues over phone since they don't have any full service branches?

The service is the same with any bank's online service. They are professional and good.
At all times, you can still visit their in-store agents at all LOBLAWS stores. I dont think you should have any problems as long as you are willing to wait 2-3 days for anything that you need from them in mail (debit cards, cheques, credit card etc..).
Having said that, whenever someone has any issues with PAD, the customer service will always try to defend the bank's interest - whether online or in person. The same is with any service like ROGERS, BELL or 407ETR.

I've been banking with PC for almost 15 years, no issues at all.
