Hi Friends,
This site is excellent in giving information about studying in Canada.
I did my 3-yr Fulltime B Com (Accounting and Finance), 2-yr Fulltime Post Graduation Diploma in Business Management (Finance) and am a Cost Accountant (Rank Holder in FINAL) from Mumbai. I have 3 years corporate experience and 2 years teaching experience at MBA level/Chartered Accountancy level.
I intend to apply for September 2014 intake of MSc in Management (Accounting major) at University of Lethbridge. I have a few queries here and would appreciate immediate and precise replies:
[1] How good (or otherwise) is this University overall?
[2] Is this University's MSc in Management well known?
[3] What are the types of jobs in Canada I can expect after this MSc?
[4] What could be the expected salary package I could get in such jobs?
I would appreciate a reply that adds to my knowledge.
Best Regards.
Not a premier university in Canada, but looks like an interesting and off-beat campus.
Canadian universities are relatively more uniform in quality than say in the States. However big university names do make a difference, especially in the finance-accounting field.
A general discussion on the same:

By "Cost Accountant" do you mean ICWAI? If you have done well in those exams then you would do well in premier schools in Canada.
Also check with the school if they have joint programs with CMA, CA or CGA, whereby you can work towards those designations along with your degree and may be subject to immigration rules that I am not aware of. You'd be job ready with those designations rather than with just a degree.
Hi Elmer Fudd,
You gave a nice reply. Added to my knowledge.
Yes, by cost accountant I am referring to ICWAI. I did well and secured All-India Merit Rank in their Final level exams.
As suggested by you, I will explore whether working towards CMA along with MSc would be possible or not.
Best Regards
Dear Members,
I would request more of you to reply to my original query about University of Lethbridge, MSc in Management (Accounting major).
I am sure I would benefit immensely from your valuable inputs.
Best Regards
Much better than centennial is what I can say. Any course at a university means that the course is elaborate.
However this is like studying in Mookambikai college of university rather than studying in College of engg (anna univ.) Guindy.
Peace

Hi FH
Thanks for taking efforts and providing these links. However, I had long back visited these links. Yet I could not find exact information or answers to my queries that I posted originally.
Anyways, thank you so much.
Best Regards
