Hi, i landed in canada 10months ago. I will be applying for a student visa sometime in the next month at the U.S toronto Consulate. I wanna know what to expect or even people's experience.
I am a undergrad, 18 years old. Been to the U.S and stayed for 15years because my family bought me as a child. I WAS LEGAL there and stayed legally and then my visa expired, but i was a minor and had no control over it. and Now my family and I reside in Toronto, but i want to go back to the U.S to Study.
The ties i have are my parents and a loan from canada.
Will this be a issue for a student visa? Experience?
When your I-94 expired (visa could be expired and will not matter), you lost your legal status, whether or not you had any control.
If the above is true, your history will appear in the US consulate's records and you can expect to be questioned in regards to that.
Whether or not you will receive a visa is dependant on the interviewing officer. People with perfect records get their visa denied, so no one can tell.
