I feel Chandresh is addressing the psychology/philosophy of the OP; nothing wrong with that. If one does not find it useful one just filters it out, like so many other mail responses on CD.
Why Fido (I assume) was striking up a conversation was that Chandresh is not one who would just make a passing remark.
So many posters like HW 36, TK, New Des post junk postings that it is easy to just filter it out.
But Chandresh is not like that. A very learned person and who has been with CD since inception and who posts with maturity.

Adam:
I agree with you but it will not work for everybody,
Once you leave a country for 3-4 years, you become lazy and old. The job market will not treat you like before (however if you have made friends with the management, then it is OK).
It will be very hard. There might be recession in your old company and they may not be hiring

To the OP:
Now that you have severed your conenctions with Canada, I would recommend your daughter to study in US or Germany.
Why Us I will tell you. The US is the world's biggest economy. Their universities are cheaper and much better than Canadian unversities. There are more scholarships and more freedom to work after university.
After the completion of university, there are better chances of getting green card and settling in the US.
In case your daughter is not settled in USA, then she can apply and come to Canada. Canadians love American educated people.
Just as an analogy, I will tell you this. Canada is ITI and USA is B. Tech (Hons.).
So choose and choose wisely.
When Adam T wakes up from his 72 hour sleep, I am sure that he will tell you the same.

University of British Columbia (UBC) which is no.2 in Canada and no.43 in world. I don't know if the ITI Vs B.Tech applies also to UBC, McGill and UoToronto ?
-----------------
--UBC , Mc Gill ,Queens , UofT , UoW are recognized very well in the US

Will she have any advantage if she applies to Canada later on because of US education ?
------------
--It will be recognized at par with Canadian education.
-----------
Do Canadian permanent residents / Citizen free to work in US or they require work permit in US ?
--------
--Citizens entitled to TN
--------
Working in US soon after UG for International students is challenging but not impossible. I think they can stretch 1.5 years further to do some intern jobs or pursue MS instead.

--Advantage of US education is the time period you get to stay in the US and work an perhaps get a suitable work Visa.
