Here is my situation:
1) I came to Canada in August 2002 as a landed immigrant and stayed there till October 2004 and left for US on H1B visa.
2) My PR card expired in 2007. Since I stayed in Canada for only 3 months during the last 5 years, my PR status is lost. I have a job in USA and have no intentions to reinstate my PR status in Canada
3) Now I am moving to Buffalo soon and would like to visit Canada for tourism. Last week I went to Canadian consulate to apply for a visitor visa and was informed that since I was a PR of Canada, I need to apply for a travel document and a visitor visa can only be issued if my application for travel document is denied and I accept their decission.
4) Currently I am applying for the travel document as suggested by the consulate. I am mentioning the reason for absence in the Humanitarian and compasonate ground as that I did not get a job in Canada. Is there any chance that my application be approved?
5) In addition, I want to know whether my application for visitor visa will be jeopardised for the fact I was a PR once upon a time and have abandoned Canada.
Thanks in advance for your replies.
