I got laid off from my work. My company offered me to use any outplacement career services up to max $1000.
Does anybody knows about this service, anyone in Etobicoke or Mississauga, can anybody refer me to outplacement or any desi ?

In the past my friend had used the services of Alan associates for $ 1600.
Basically they told him that they will give him a good reference and also get him a job. So he joined after paying from his own pocket. Once they got the money, he found that it waas similar to a free HRDSC course where they teach you networking, job search,english etc... Their reference may or may not carry any weight.
Some of the best things in life are free.
However, if it is a service that you canot take the $ 1000 from your office (may be your office will get a tax break on that money), you might aswell use it on Alan associates or someone that a CD may refer to.
