A supremely assertive India on Tuesday humiliated Bangladesh by 240 runs in a warm-up game and geared up for the ICC Champions Trophy in an emphatic fashion, sounding a warning for arch-rivals Pakistan. Playing in their second warm-up match, defending champions made short work of their sub-continental neighbour bowling them out for 84 in 23.5 overs at the Oval after piling up a commanding 324 for 7.

No margin of a slippage in the format of tournament. A bad day and back home tickets will be advanced.
Not the strongest but the most consistent will win the tournament. India in one of the favorite. They are paper tigers as well. South Africa in my view is strongest and England will have home advantage and might be most consistent in the beginning. It takes time to settle in England be it the cricketer or an immigrant. These 3 teams to be watched for.

Indian batsman have a very poor track record abroad.

They can't play on the swinging wickets of England or the bouncing wickets of South Africa/ Australia.

So the pitches are a key and the overcast cloud or rainy moisture conditions are the key. Ball swings a lot under those conditions.

If flat pitches are produced and India is chasing a total and you don't have cloudy conditions, India has a very good chance of winning.

Indian fielding and bowling has improved a lot. Their fast bowlers like Yadav, Shami, B Kumar are quite good and can hold their own against other fast bowlers. Jadega and Ashwin also bowl well.

What India is lacking is a genuine all rounder like Ben Stokes. Neither Jadega nor Ashwin are genuine all rounders. Both are pretty poor with bat these days.

So India has a very longish tail compared to other teams, which bat long and deep. So the top Indian batting order has to fire, can't depend at all on the lower order to bail them out.

Another key is Dhoni. His wicket keeping is still top notch. But batting wise, his reflexes and runs have deteriorated a lot recently. He absolutely fails to ROTATE the strike.

He keeps on adding pressure through his slow batting, dot balls and low strike rates. He thinks he will play 4 scoreless DOT balls in an over, and then go for a HUGE Six on the fifth ball. He is no longer looking for ones and twos and rotating the strike. He should do that, since he is excellent at running between the wickets.

Such type of approach only works 1 out of 5 times, and then people think he is cool and a great finisher and he hit a Six to win the match. They don't see the other 4 times, they lost.

Rohit Sharma, Rahane, Dhawan all good players, but not consistent. Through lazy stupid shots they will get out for a ZERO or score a fast 50, very inconsistent.

The long and worthless IPL wit its flat batting pitches and short boundaries has also taken a toll on the Indian players. Hopefully they are not mentally fatigued by too much cricket.

Potentially and on paper India has what it takes to win the tournament easily if they focus and work hard.
