The music of Yash Chopra's latest film "Veer-Zaara" is being hailed as nothing short of a classic.
It brings together three of Indian cinema's biggest legends - the late Madan Mohan, Lata Mangeshkar and Yash Chopra - for the first time. The album is sure to give music lovers a much-awaited bouquet of timeless melodies.
The album was launched at a small party. Lata Mangeshkar and Javed Akhtar graced this occasion.
With lyrics by Akhtar, it features singers like Lata Mangeshkar, Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam, Gurdas Mann, Roop Kumar Rathod, Ahmed Hussain and Mohammed Hussain.
While the audiocassette features nine songs from the film, the CD has 11 songs. The songs include a rare duet by Lata and Jagjit Singh.
The Madan Mohan-Lata Mangeshkar combination is a thing of history...and what's even more historic is that Lata Mangeshkar at the age of 75, has sung nine songs composed by Madan Mohan in "Veer-Zaara", 30 years after he passed away.
The music of "Veer-Zaara" has myriad moods. There are songs to appeal to everyone - emotional songs, romantic love songs, a frothy folk song, a memorable qawwali, an inspiring song in praise of the motherland as well as an exuberant, youthful song.
The audio CD pack also includes a special CD featuring the "Making of the Music" of Veer-Zaara and is a must for all music connoisseurs. It also has special commentaries by Chopra and Lata.

There is no key to happiness.... the door is always open.
I had put it on with great expectations - but seems the expectations were very high and so did not appeal so much to me.
But ofcourse, Lataji is great!

Meghal,
You cant expect Nainon mein Badra chhaye in the late 1970's when Madan Mohan died. Those were the days of "Dil dhoondta hai fir wohi, fursat ke raat din"...
I will agree with you that Lata's voice has cracked..but I bet you, this album's sole USP is
Lata Mangeshkar + Madan Mohan + Yash Chopra (in that order)... This album is a welcome relief from the crap songs that we get these days. I actually stopped listening to new hindi music, unless they are something different like this album or an AR Rehman composition
BTW..do you want the Mp3's
