Hi,
I came to canada on PR 6 months before. I am unemployed(IT!).
I have fixed an appointment at Toronto consulate for H1B stamping. I dont have my recent payslips/paystubs with me. Is it a must to show these documents or is there any alternative?
Any help is appreciated.
Depend whether you are applying for first time H1B stamping on the approved petition or applying because your earlier H1B visa expired
Case 1:
If you are applying for first time H1B visa you don't need any salary slip because in this case you should have confirmed job offer letter only and because you never worked on H1B before naturally you won't have any salary slip/pay stub with you
Case 2: You are applying for another H1B stamp under same employer because earlier got expired .In that case you should produce your recent paystubs because it is expected that you're working under the same employer
Case 3: You previously worked on H1B status for Employer A and now got approved petiotion for employer B and want to get your H1B stamp on new employer B .In that case paystub is not important rather confirmed offer letter from your new emplyer is important
Paystub is important you are applying H1B visa for the same employer for which you have been working
Another important thing consulate officer will be verifying whether you ever in 'OUT OF STATUS' during your previous stay in USA
Thanks

Thank you very much ani70.
In my case it is new H1B that too after 3 years. I hope previous W2 forms are sufficient to prove that I wasn't out of status when I was in US previously.
Should not be problem then
Make it sure to carry your Offer letter highlighting your nature of job
It will be better if you could carry some doc related to your Employer profile
Best of luck
