Hi Folks,
I am in a process of going to U.S consulate in Canada(Toronto) for my h1-b stamping. I would really appreciate it, if you kindly answer the following questions that I have.
1.How long does it take to get the appointment?, what kind of current back log can I
expect ? , as I am planning go to consulate in Toronto on the 27th of November.
2. Assuming I have an appointment for 27th, would it be possible to complete
the stamping in one day or would it take over a few days?
3. I am an Indian National with H1-B status in Canada and have a P.R status from
Canada, I am an Indian Citizen.
4. steps and process involved in the documentation (other than the h1-b paper work),
that I have to carry for my visa stamping such as stamping fee, application fee(if any)
etc;.
Please reply to questions as soon as possible. I greatly appreciate all your information and help. You may also reach me at
Thanks,
Rakesh.
1. I highly doubt you'll be get an appointment for 27th number if you haven't booked one already. It takes at least a month and a half to get an appointment. The appointment can be booked online at http://www.nvars.com" rel="nofollow">LINK
2. It is entirely upto the embassy. I don't think they do same day stamping, it takes a couple of days at least. It could also take 2 months if they have want to do a background check on you.
4. You should be able to get this from the consulate website.

Hi BlueLobster,
I basically am S/w engineer, working in the states for the last 5 years.
to get back to your answer, thats really weird if it takes a month and
a half to get the appointment.
I also wanted to something, if this delay is only with U.S Consulate in Toronto , or else where in Canada is the same as well ? , in case its
not, I might think of other U.S consulates in Canada. Please let
me know of your opinion.
But anyways, can you please me all the links you think, that might
be helpful for me, which would help through the process of
getting my H1-B stamping in toronto.
Thanks
Rakesh.
