Well yes and no(imo). It depends on what you mean by 'mature' and 'well reasoned thinking'. These seem to be highly relative, the left and the right both claim to fall into each category. Also, imo...all of us identifying with one side or the other is a symptom of the issue.

They're languishing! The opinion polls have them at below 30%. They're obviously in no shape for an election, which is why they abstained during the budget vote while the NDP and BQ voted against! Going to be a tough road ahead for them....
