Is there a way where the dictionary in MS-Word can be set to English (U.K.) that would actually work? I have tried setting the default dictionary as English (Canada) or English (U.K.) but it reverts back to English (US) or still favours (favors rather) US spellings!

1.) Delete the version of MS-WORD you have and install Staroffice. It is compatible with all MS-Word office documents and vice versa. You can also save your stuff in MS-WORD format.
2.) Alternatively, have you tried uninstalling MS-WORD and re-installing it with your desired settings ? You should go to advanced mode for doing that ?
