My name is equally unusual within my home country as well. No complains ..
Ooh .. I've been equally rejected in job interviews .... within my home country ... and outside my home country. Hmm .. never thought that my name could be the reason!
Could be true!! I'm laughing cause I landed in my job here in Latin America because of my name, the director of WHO at that time was a Canadian lady who was a PHD student from India and loved Indians and our capabilties, my immediate boss put my resume apart thinking I won't be a penny worth and she choose my name from the discarded pile, cause it sounded Indian and said if this girl is Indian she can sort the mess we are in!!! I made sure not to let her faith down in Indians!!
