a friend took g1 exam in aug and due to injury cannot give g2 within 9 months
as suggested ,do we have to repeat the g1 again or inform the ministry of transport
about the same? or can we give g2 anytime in the period of 5 years in mississauga?

Keep in mind the rules will be the same anywhere in the province, doesn't matter if you're in Mississauga or Kapuskasing.
The exam has to be given before the end of the 5 years (ie the xpiry date on the licence)

It is 8 months and not 9 months waiting period if you go for Ministry-Approved Beginner Driver Education Courses.
H/she can give the test anytime after waiting period until his G1 is valid.
