To anyone looking for a work permit please take care and beware of this scam that has come to my attention via a contact to my website:
I have the following details from one of the emails:
> CANADA EMPLOYMENT REPRESENTATIVE (C.E.R)
> CONTACT PERSON: MR.HUMBER PHILIP
> SUITE 23-30,PLAZA ZEIYE HOLLAND
> E-mail:
>
> The address and phone numbers for the Hotel are:
> OMINI HOTELS,MONT-ROYAL , Montreal
The jobs offered are:
> > 1. Hospitality Management.
> > 2. Store Keeper.
> > 3. Computer operator
Here is the response from the consultant who was asked to investigate:
Dear Sir;
> I regret to inform you that this whole scheme is a
> fraud. The Hotel does
> not know who these people are. All of their
> positions are posted on their
> web site.
> The Canadian police are aware of the fraud, but it
> is not sure where the
> criminals are operating from.
> Sincerely,
> Phil Mooney
> Member, Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants
The hotel is real but is not involved in the scam so I have left off the contact details - the Police are aware and are investigating. It seems they are targeting people from the mid and far east including the Indian Subcontinent.
The individual who contacted me paid a fee to Mr Humber Philip who is fictional and he has lost his money. The jobs on offer are fictional too.
Basically, anyone offering you employment and/or a visa for money should be avoided and always ensure that any consultant you may use is registered with the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants (CSIC) and in good standing.
Chandresh - I know you have had your issues with my posts but I feel that this should be given full exposure to help people avoid this. I have left off any URL's as per previous requests.
To everyone else, please be careful and distribute this information to any other forums you may use.
We are waiting for the confirmation of how the individual was approached and will post as soon as I receive it.

Are you there?
no problem,
if anyone else has been approached by this or something similar please respond as it may help in catching the people who get up to this kind of scam.
Once again, if you are unsure of anyone you are thinking of hiring check with CSIC http://www.csic-scci.ca/indexE.html to make sure they are legitimate consultants, that if they are lawyers ask for their registration details and follw up with contacting the canadian Bar association http://www.cba.org/CBA/Home.asp
then for extra diligence, post questions about them on forums, do not part with any money until you are as sure as you can be they are legitimate.
