I dont know the reason why the RCMP cannot call it a scam..but it is some kind of fraud atleast...

I thought I was the only one getting those 416-000 calls. I also got calls from 1-888 numbers about my car warranty. Common sense dictate that you just hang up when you get such calls

Thanks for sharing this. For some odd reason, after registering myself with the DNCL, telemarketing calls have increased for me.
Initially I used to entertain such calls and politely insist that I am not interested in any new services....it didn't work. The most polite way I have found in dealing with such calls is to hang up.

I heard from someone that the do not call registry database has been accessed by the telemarketers (those calling from out-side canada) to make the phone calls!!
I also have phones listed in DNCL and I do ocassionally get marketting phone calls, but saying "My number is in the DNCL, please stop calling me otherwise I will take legal actions" stops calls from atleast that company.

Even Manufacuring company also know about it, like Honda, Toyota, etc.. Make sure do not entertaint any kind of this calls.
Please do not give any information regarding your bank or Credit card related as they are cheat company who is using randomly taken information by VIN no and they are calling.
Still Manufacturer comapany investigation how they got this all datas regarding customer.
