Is there anyone on the CD forum who are awaiting their citizenship test at Vancouver?
Can anyone please clarify on my earlier questions on this thread?

Yes 8 months is a standard response.
The local office will do background checks. You may even be asked to submit fingerprints.

Just thought I will update my citizenship timeline so far:

Step 1:
We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on January 22, 2009.
We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called A Look at Canada on January 22, 2009. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
Step 2:
We started processing your application on June 16, 2009.
Your file was transferred to the Citizenship office on August 24, 2009. The Citizenship office will contact you if additional information is required. The Citizenship office will contact you regarding your citizenship test once all the necessary checks on your file are complete.
Step 3:
We sent you a notice on October 9, 2009 to appear and write the citizenship test on November 10, 2009 at 10:16 AM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us. If we have sent the letter to the wrong address, please contact us.

After the test You have to meet the Citizenship officer . He/She Goes through your file and verify it is in order.
They will verify your Passport ,Driver license and ask few questions regarding your absence.
Then they will issue a circular stating when you can expect your oath ( which may be 3 months from Test)
