To add to this the popular S&P benchmark for global property total return index last year was an astounding 42%. The year before 29%.

Clients of mine and myself included who invested in global real estate funds got a resounding return of 40+ % last year

If you are addressing the question to me regarding the Global Real estate funds- they are definitely RRSP eligible.

If i sold my house and went abroad to work what will be my liability for Capital gains tax and how can i reduce it. I bought my house for 225,000 $ and will sell it for approximately 450,000 $ .

You may be asked for a Sec 116 release before you can take your equity out the country. Consulting with an accountant will help.
