Hi
my brother has filed for the immigration for canada from india and he got the letter that it will need 54 months for process to start.i am wondering that it takes this much of time.
is it possible to file it from canada if the process is early from here.
Thanks in advance for all those responding.
Yes I believe it is taking 5-6 yrs for the whole process to end. A friend of mine dropped the idea due to this frustration. I just just hope Canada appoints more people to get this job carried out. But I am told, 5-6 yrs is the average. Tell your brother to keep all the documents ready and get all paperwork done at the soonest chance otherwise it delays the whole process.
What do others think?

Then work, as if everything depends on you!!!
Are you applying through any immigration consultant or own your own as yes it takes approx 4-5 and sometime if luck favours then 3-4 but minimum i have seen is more then 3 years. No need to worry just apply and let the case goes on may be new rules and things like that move your file faster. Till that time you keep on working and save money for right of landing fee, medical, accomodation, air tickets, fund to show................

he has applied on his own.we were wondering if there is any other possibility like coming on student visa and then apply from here or to apply again from canada through canadian immigration consultant if it makes process faster and if it is possible.
thanks
He can come on work permit visa and then apply for PR. You will need to find job for him and hat company should aply for LMO and wit that he willget work permit in India and then come here....so it taks 2 months to come to Canada and 1.5yrs max to get PR.
