Hello:
I have applied for my wife's sponsorship but did not include any medical examination as I was not aware that also is needed. Iam confused and will appreciate if someone could tell me at what point do they need medical examination done. She is currently in India and I am confused on what needs to be done for her. I will appreciate if anyone can help me at this time.

I do not think you need to. They will inform you if there is a need. I sponsored my spouse 7 years ago, that time it use to work like this only. I do not think there is any change regarding medical.
Embassy send there own list of Dr.(s).

I find it amazing that you sent in your wife's sponsorship application WITHOUT her medicals. There is a documents checklist provided which is to be attached with the application. How could you miss reading about the medical requirement in that?
For spousal applications, the medical is done upfront and if you would have read the instructions carefully when sending in the application, you would have sent it along with the other parts of the application.
Silly mistakes like these can really screw up your case and delay a process that should ideally last between 3-6 months.
AP Singla - Your information is absolutely incorrect. All permanent residence applications (whether under the skilled category or sposored) have to get the medical done and results are sent by the doc to the Canadian consulate. That was the situation even seven years back, so I do not understand how you can state that there was no medical required for your wife.
