Hello,
I recently married my girlfriend of 2.5 years, a Canadian citizen.
She is 19 now. And I'm 25 and on a student visa.
Due to some problems she left highschool to pursue a highpaying job around the time we met. Now, she wants to go back to school, which means she won't have a job.
However, she's willing to go to work from 4pm-9pm to make some money. Even though the sponsorship class states that she will need to show money and proof that she can support me, I'm not willing for that neither do I need it, as I have my own finances coming from back home.
So, whether she works or not, I can support her and myself.
Also, her mom has her own company realestate company, and my wife can be given something like an employment letter from there or something. (she has helped them do some calls, reception stuff, mild office work, etc in the past)
Her options:
Her mom's company name.
A part-time job.
My problem:
I want her to pursue school and finish it.
Here's what I'd like to know.
What do you guys think about this whole scenario when she puts in the application in December with her part-time job on the application?
What can we do so it all goes smoothly?
Can she just say "My husband has his own money from his country. And I have a part-time job, and I go to school full-time."?
Please help.
My limited knowledege says that under this category ...funds is not an issue at all...and neither is job.....
So, you mean we can get away without putting this information in?
What's really important?
There is no minimum income requirement for sponsorship of spouse. So your wife is eligible to sponsor you. Just make sure that you provide plenty of evidence that your marriage is genuine (ceremony photographs, marriage license/certificate etc). Since, both of you are presently together, you should also provide proof of co-habitation (living at the same address)

Ah.
So about proof of employment, what kind of a letter would she need before she moves into that job parttime?
Also, we got married on the 3rd of August, can we send in the application now? Or do we wait till we get the certificate?
And yes, we have a lot of pictures from the ceremony, we have pictures of our relationship in the past 3 years, and ofcourse, the license as well. We'll just need to wait to get the certificate which we can apply to get only 90 days after the marriage.
In the form, Sponsorship Questionnaire IMM5540, question 6 says Are you employed?
By ticking NO, which is the truth, is it going to be a bad thing for the application? Does the sponsor lose any treatment if she is not employed?
In the form, Sponsorship Evaluation IMM5481, question 2, can we say Unemployed and being supported by her parents? Because really, like mentioned earlier, she doesn't work, but I'm being supported by parents, etc.
Would we need any kind of proof that she's being supported by her parents or I am being sent money from home?
She - sponsor.
Please help,
Thank you.
