We keep on hearing stories about how qualified doctors have to undergo lengthy certification processes to practice their profession in Canada. But now the shoe is on the other foot.
Apparently, in India a foreign citizen cannot practice dentistry, even if they are an OCI. Refer to the link for the story http://www.rediff.com/news/2007/oct/31sikka.htm
Also, this may be an eye opener for OCIs who are thinking of relocating back to India. They should do due diligence on whether their Canadian passport would prevent them from finding employment in India.
I guess OCI is eyewash. The Indian Govt just want Investments from OCI guys. IF the Dr had started a big hospital things would be easy for him. Money flowing into the Babus hands. So OCI is just enjoy your vacation and spend money over there OR If you have the big bucks invest in a Big company / Hospitals/ etc as money will be flowing to the babus and you can work there without any problem.: clap:

The OCIs must recognize that they are foreigners in India with fringe benefits that are accorded to them because of their birth/bloodlines. It is ludicrous that the lady feels somehow she must be a sweetheart because she was born in India. It is a serious matter for the Indians and they better be careful what they do. If they grant her all rights of native citizens, this can pose problems later when whities or others want to benefit from a good economy and set up shop in India. However, now that this issue came up, it might set precedence and make the Indian Govt to come up with procedures and protocols of granting recognition to foreign-trained folks in controlled professions. There are nice comments following that article on that site about the opportunistic Indians... which is so true! All you gotta tell an Indian brother, and I tried this many times, scream suddenly dollars dollars and they will ask ya with excitement, where? I would then say I was just kidding. Indian education lacks spirit.... pretty much producing trained coolies without a whole lot of character or integrity... and an incessant drive for dollars. Now that India appears to be The Place (gold rush), no wonder some Indians are running back! Such people probably do not deserve any compassion, much less any respect!
Wow!!
I really dont want to get into mud slinging episodes here, but I as I understand it, if you and I followed the "Gold Rush" - as in presumably better opportunites here (and possibly gained respect in the eyes of the people left behind in India) then I believe saying that "people who return to India for the current Gold Rush there, do not deserve any respect" is unfair.
Just my thoughts. nothing more; nothing less!
Take care all and let live

She has become too much of a canadian to fit into the indian culture..
She has forgotten all about the grease palm technique that works effectively in india..
All it probably would have cost her is a 50000 to 1 lakh Rs instead she is just creating a nuisence of herself to all the self serving civil servents..
