Hi,
I have read in newspapers that due to strong dollar, Canadian going states for shopping. Whats your openion, is it worh while to do shopping in US just crossing border from Buffalo or Rainbow bridge.
Is any boady recently visit US for shopping and how it went. Please share your experince.
Thanks
We were there on 16th Nov. for a day. Did shopping for almost whole day and by the end of the day when we calculated we have discovered that our saving were almost 70% as compare to the Canadian retail price. The items we bought were clothing, shoes and some electronic stuff. Because it was Friday so crossing the border was a smooth sailing ( aproxx 15 min each side) . While returning we declared some of the stuff we bought and Canadian Customs Officer was kind enough to let us enter Canada without paying any money what so ever.
Since last few years we are buying stuff from the US and I can say it is worth making a trip across the border.

Most of the Canadians go to either the Fashion Outlet Mall or Walden Galleria mall. The GAP store in the Fashion outlet mall is a special favourite for Candians..

Thanks for the reply...
On Friday Nov 30th I went to Walden Galleria. We spend almost whole day there and did lots of shopping. Prices were amazing, specially at JC Penny. I would say, at the end we almost save about 80%.
There was no rush at the border (both side US and Canada) and waiting time was about 5-6 mintues. We declare some shopping at border but the lady was very nice and she didn't say any thing.
I would say its worth to visit US for shopping. This was my expreience
Thanks
