Hi. It's been a little more than about 30 days since my Citizenship application was received by the CIC.
Can I check my status online? Is it true that checking your application status online too often can go against your case?

Sure you can check the status of your application online and as many times as you want. It is not going to go against your case in any way. In fact I would prefer checking it online than calling their call centers because of long waiting time to get an agent.
However as per my exp. usually the communication from them arrives before the status of application is updated on the website.

You can check your status online if you have recieved acknowledgement and the book (A look at Canada).

You could expect an update in the Online status within 90 days after your application.

You don't need to wait for an acknowlegement letter and book before being able to check the status of your application online.. but yes, these days it is taking almost 60 days before you're able to see your status online.
