hi
i am an intl student here in canada.
but i work from home for a company doing some voip programming (my uncle's company).. and i get paid on that (sometimes my uncle just sends me money too without any work stuff)

he sends his money to his friends company account here in canada via bank wire, and then his friend gives me the cheaque from his company account to me.. and i put it my account

do you see anything wrong with this?

i am not working in canada according to rules and regulations. i am also not technically working

Please ask your benefactor here in Canada for a letter stating that he is only releasing you with the sum received from so and so in India, for your expenses, here in Canada for your study. Ask him/her to state the sum in dollars.

It is left to you how you make your arrangements to receive the sum here in Canada. Now cover your receipts. (CYA)

Hope this helps.

Freddie.

Some one from some where is sending you the money to you through an intermediary. They don't have to know what for.

The benefactor to you is, one who is issuing to you the money that he receives from some one. In general a benefactor is one who gives money generously to others.

What do I think, when one receives money from some one for NOTHING?, very little at the outset. I don't think that they are going to put you on the FINTRAC for receiving a small sum. (Which is less than $9,999.00) But who knows? You take that chance.

Don't worry, Be happy. Sleep well. (There I go again.)

Just take cash. So that in the future u r not in trouble. Remember you are taking the cheque from a company not an individual. IRS can quwestion you.

The local company guy doesn't want to give cash as it's a substantial IT company. Besides, the IRS would probably go after my uncle, not the local guy.
