Some years back it was question of Kashmir,
now see the effects, its spreading in all cities

India don't have to wait... don't have to start bombing neighbours as well. It can root out corruption. Raid and capture terrorists and their supporters in its own territory. But will that happen? Answer is a big NO. Even if some officer decides to raid the places, which may end up to be a religious place or a particular community dominated area, 100 politicians will come up shouting "harassment".

Having read all the comments in numerous posts/forums and here at CD as well, I am astonished as to why didn't anyone advocate the idea of cutting off Pakistan completely and diplomatically. In my opinion, I agree with Pratickm that war is not at all feasible and this time it will certainly be blown to full scale war. Remember, both the countries are equipped with Nuclear arsenal. Why do we forget that each time we talk about War? Undoubtedly, India will win and Pakistan will be completely finished, but at what cost - Indian IT market, infrastructure, tourism, and the biggest one Chinese intrusion on the other part - Kashmir and North East. Unfortunately, India can't afford to open two fronts.

So, why not coin with the idea of cutting off Pakistan diplomatically. Break all ties - cultural, political, diplomatic, sport, business, and communication. Stop any artists from coming to Mumbai, India for work. Close down their diplomatic missions all across India. Just de-recognize this nation, and do not hold ANY talks until any significant improvement appears on the surface. Just let them feel the heat. I know it happened before as well, but this time strictly stick to this doctorine. Inside India, Army must be fully equipped and determined to crush the terrorists in Kashmir and a stringent judiciary is required to sentence the captured terrorists. In Kashmir, deal with the terrorists with iron fist. Amend the constitution for removal of special status/deals to Kashmir. On international stage, keep lobbying against Pakistan.

Politically, we must get rid of Mr. Manmohan Singh and Family business, called Congress once and for all. Manmohan Singh is certainly a great man and a reformer, but surely not equipped to handle the situations like these. We must have a leader of a calibre like 'Sardar Patel', who doesn't dare to take tough measures as need arises. Why not inject people like K.P.S. Gill, Jagmohan, T.N. Seshan etc.?

Also, as I read in one of the articles, India needs to protect it's citizen as effectively as it's politicians.

It reminds me how in 2001 when Musharaf came for "talks" with AB Vajapayee (the then PM of India) in Agra, home minister LK Advani asked Musharaf before the talks to hand over the '93 bombay blast accused (including Dawood) to India as a mark of goodwill and cooperation.
Musharaf refused.

After the "talks", he visited New Delhi, where he was again asked (I forget by who) for a release of all POW languishing in Pakistani prisons since 1965 - over 40 years.

He said he would consider it, and then forgot about it.

IMO, India should have severed all diplomatic and trade relations at that time when it was clear that his govt was not sincere about peace.

India needs serious work on its foreign policy and negotiating capability.
It is a major economic and military power.
It is now a part of the G20.
It needs to reflect that in its foreign policy.
A country like Australia is able to insult and undermine us in the UN.

Countries much smaller than us are able to use leverage with the US.
Our leaders have to get better at foreign policy and use whatever means necessary to influence the US, UK and other "powers" to pressurize Pakistan (and China) to back off and leave us alone.
If these two countries don't want to cooperate and work with us, fine, but back off and leave us alone.

Totally ... Cut all ties with Pakistan. Just ignore them. I think India does import Sugar & Cotton along with Terrorists. Even if it is Peanut - financially they do depend on India.

What are we planning to do with them? Policy obviously does not dictate to Shoot them. Ek baitha hai, uska kuchh ukhad nahi sakte. They will spend good 6-7 years in Jail on Taxes that people pay. We will be lucky if another Kandahar does not happen.

To me ... before anything else - Clean up local network. Apart from slizzy Politicians, there is a well organised network. Police/ATS/Commandos - whoever - need to get them out in public. Police/ATS have killed some/many in encounters. There is no point in crying in front of World. They probably are laughing anyways. Yeh to sala roj ka hai.
