Haven't seen the movie but the music is absolutely brilliant. One of the best albums of 2009 and one of ARR's best. Imagine resurrecting Bade Gulam Ali Khan's song and combining it with Shreya Ghosal's voice - it is an exercise in bravery - creating classical song when hip-hop rules Bollwood.
Ditto for "Genda Phool" - an MP folksong by Rekha Bhardwaj.
Cannot write enough about "Masakali" and "Maula Mere Maula".
Only blemish in that album is that stupid monkey song. Wonder if the producers forced ARR to create that song. It spoils the mood of album. I just skip that song every time I play that CD
