My parents have last name ending with \"A\" and all my siblings, including myself have last name ending with \"YA\" in passports,
So, how do I proceed with immigration application?
Does this kind of error affect the proof of relationship...?
Any advise/comment would help.
Thanks.

1) Do you like the name you currently have. (Or carry)
2) Do you like your name ending in "YA" as it has been so long. Does all of the following papers that you have, have the same ending, such as Birth Certificate, Scool certificate and University Degrees. Is it the same with the Income tax files? Is it the same in Driver's License? Is it the saem in the Banks.
3) Now that you have applied to Immigrate did you fill in the application with an "YA" ending? Or you are asking us prior to the filing of the application? You now have a choice to correct it.
See a Lawyer or any quasi judicial such as Para Legals and find out the procedure.
One thing that you have to remember is, they will not issue to you another degree with a name change. Birth Certificate cannot be changed, so what are you trying to accomplish? If the Immigration Officer asks you: "Why you changed your name?", is it because you had some previous criminal activity? How are you going to prove that you had none before!! Are you going to tell him you just wanted it out of fun! Would that be your answer?
Some times we do things for no reasons. But it comes back to haunt us later. So, if you think you can handle all of this and move on in life and so can your wife and children, then do it.
Or just leave it as it is. If in your Birth Certificate your Father's name is spelled the way it is currently, and you Father is moving about cool-ly with it, let him enjoy it. You go about enjoying your name with the way it is written. No one is going to pick on you.
If it is not in line and all of the documents, do not spell the same way....... Then you have to think about getting it all back in line. So, open up each document go checking the spelling with a fine toothed comb and see where you feel it needs the correction.
If none, then leave it alone.
So, you use the spelling as is written in the documents "YA".
Hope this helps you a little.
Freddie.
