Saw them on Oprah show this afternoon. Jr B was very witty and sharp. Ash as usual gorgeous. Oprah wanted to surprise a group of ABCD girls dancing to a hindi song on the show and both Ash and Jr B would walk in. They both walked in to surprise the dancers and the stupid, I mean really stupid ABCDs still dancing despite Ash and Jr B standing right there and the dumb girls could not recognize them. They were still dancing. I just could not believe what was happening. Even Oprah could not hide her amuse. Typical dumb ABCDs fit to dance to some tune without realizing that the super stars are right before their eyes.

Ash and Abhishek - Superstars? I was literally LAUGHING OUT LOUD when read this. A bunch of dumb-heads instead.

Do you (OP) really think the whole world should know about them? Not really surprising that the dancers didn't notice both of them.

I want to see the same when it comes to the people in India.

They are merely a by-product and superstars of media - that's it. Every Tom, Dick, and Harry is a superstar now-a-days.

Quite frankly, India didn't produce a single superstar after Amitabh. He too has lost his sheen now, and can't be compared with himself. That Amitabh (of 70s, 80s) is no more.

I know not of Jr B's achievements...

...but Ash definitely fits the bill. She was Miss World (or Universe?), acted in critically acclaimed movies and has gained worldwide attention for her talent. The premier of Guru in Toronto helped. She has been on Letterman. And with all the attention Bollywood is getting from Slumdog's success, this appearance on Oprah was no surprise.

There is nothing to laugh about when it comes to Ash. She has earned it. Watch Raincoat, Provoked...and you will know why I think she is one of the best...

ABCD means American Born Confused Desi.
KumarM was trying to inform CD that these ABCD's were typically dumb in the sense that though the very famous Indian actors came on stage, they were so dumb as not to recogonise them/acknowledge their presence but keep on dancing instead being at awe and to immediately stop dancing and get all tensed up at the show up of the two very famous couple/actors from india.

KumarM also belived that Oprah also thought that the ABCD's would have immidiately stopped the dance and that they would have glorified the couple- a typical indian attitude. but that was not the case and hence Oprah was also surprised.

hope this helps.

Peace by a PD (Pucca Dravidian)
