Hello all!
Recently I have gotten 3 scars on my left cheeks. They are about 1.5 inches long and few cms in width. (Almost looks like someone slapped me). But this is mainly from sunburn after a laser treatment. (I was out in the sun ALL day and did not have on adequate sunscreen unfortunately.)
I have been using Vitamin E creme and also the Neo Strata 'Smoothing Creme' at night. But I was wondering if there is a facial which I can also get to help lighten the damage.
Could you please help me with following questions:
What kind of facial should help?
Where can I get this facial?
Approximate cost?
Try quality brands like Clarins/ Estee Lauder etc from Sears/Bay or even Vichy from Shoppers drugmart. I used Clarins brightening Plus treatement for sunburn and it works wonders. Bit pricey but worth it. I would strongly advice against any facial unless you hae excellent references or know the asthetician yourself as most of them hardly knopw what they are doing.
Thank you Masakali!
I tried microdermabrasion (one treatment ONLY) and it has not helped because it cleared out all of the skin at the same rate. Which means my scars are still just as visible as before! That was a BAD move on my part. On top of it, now I have to be super extra careful with sunscreen.
I will give the Clarin's Brightening Plus treatment a try now.
And you are very right about the facials! I am still having a hard time of finding someone who will do a good job of it. I have been looking (off and on) for almost a year now. I will try different places each month or two but none seem to get it right. I explain it well that my skin is VERY sensitive, acne-prone skin etc and it does not get the point across to them. Even tried Caryl Baker Visage's expensive seaweed facial and that gave me the worst case of break-outs I had ever experienced. Aaaaah!!!
I forgot to ask in my previous post... Does anyone have any homemade 'nuskha' for facial treatments?
Back in India, the ladies used to make a paste of multani matti and sandalwood powders and apply that as a mask. Once it dries you wash that off.
Good idea freakout. I will try that as well on a weekly basis. Did not think of that. I think this impatience is irritating me more than the scar itself.
Instead of experimenting new facials/beautician every month, just buy a good facial massage cream (Queensead/ Shehnaz/ Clarins etc), and do the facial every 2 weks yourself. Take a scoop of cream and break a capsule of Vitamine E into it and massage it on your face gently for 10-15 mins. It is cheap and safe home remedy. To me, facial from anyone i don't know is scary proposition.
Hope that helps.
