Just wanted to inform CD's that there is a provision to obtain Birthday greetings for your loved ones (like Father, wife, son etc...) from your local MP or MPP.
What you have to do is to locate the website of your local MP / MPP and then fill up a form and send it to them. You will get a beautifully signed birthday sheet from the MP / MPP and enclosed in a hard bound folder with the logo of Canada / Ontario (as the case may be). To top it all, it is totally FREE, the cost being taken from the MP / MPP's fund.
Please do take full advatage of the scheme but please donot misuse the scheme, just b'cos it is available to Canadians / legal residents.
Peace by a PD

I am a Gents and not a Ladies.
I get older by each and every day. They add up a bunch of these, three hundred and sixty five of them and then say, "You are an year older"! They can make you feel bad. And then they say Happy Birthday.
When did they stop giving the gifts? (What gift?) In India they give one hundred bucks before you vote. Some even more. Then they will sell some cattle feed, such as "HAY" and make it back.

Just to let you know, we have a friend who celebrated 25 years of marriage. On top of the gift my ex-girlfriend and I gave him, we also had a certificate given to him from the PM.
You should've seen the look of delight on both the husband and wife's face when they opened it. Not only that, they called their relatives in Venezuela to tell them about it. They framed it and put it up on their mantlepiece.
Similarly, we gave a friend's mother who turned 90 a certificate signed by the Governor General. The look on her face when her son told her it was from the GG was worth a million bucks- so to speak.
So I am sure there may be many who will be thrilled to get a cert from the MP as well.I am not one of them, but hey let me tell you, a cert from the PM of a country- now that is worth something for me, whether the guy got my vote or not.
I don't know if other countries do this kinda thing. Maybe some of you can fill me in.
