You could secretly invite friends and family, and send your hubby out for an hour or so. When he returns - surprise...surprise.....

Note: the guest have to be puntual.

In terms of gifts - as they say - Men and their toys - look at some electronics like a camera, PDA, tools for the household, massager, something for the car.

Hey Sudesh, thanks for reply but as i said before, "I dont want to do a surprise birthday party but does any one has any other suggestions" ?

look at some electronics like
a camera, already have one.
PDA, : whats that ?
tools for the household, : there is no house :))
massager, : electrical ? is that good ?
something for the car : well I use car more than him so may not be a good idea.

I m not trying to be difficult but I really dont understand what to give. bcos last time whatever few things I gave, of my choice : i think he did not like them :(

Hey, if its your hubby's b'day, its what he would like that rules, not what you would like to do for him!!

Make the day memorable for him,if he likes having friends over on special occasions, invite them, get together at a restaurant,or anywhere outdoors, but if he likes such occasions with family only then cook a special meal for him,go all out, have a great time.

As for gifts, you can always make something for him if you are the crafty kind, paint a t-shirt, get one of those nice keychains monogrammed with his initials, a special coffee mug, if he enjoys reading, then a good book,if he likes music, buy him a set of CDs, or get him a coupon for a day at the spa, if he likes plays etc,get him tickets for that.....do something that he would like doing but just hasnt gotten around to it.

Well i could go on and on,but dont want to put all my ideas out there as my hubby visits this site aswell and dont want to kill the surprise for him:D

In my view, as a hubby, get him something which you yourself are particularly NOT intersted in, but he loves. That will not only surprise him, but will also go a great way in conveying to him that whatever be the difference in your choices (and tell me of a couple which does not have differences in likes and dislikes) - but you still care a lot for him. It could be anything - from a particular band/singer's album, to a nice masala chai in bed (that is if you hate doing it otherwise but he loves it!) - or even like wearing a dress you particularly do not like (but he would love you to wear), but doing it for that day and taking him out for a cup of coffee wearing that dress

That way you get what you want (a surprise for him), and he gets what he wants, and you do not have to organise big things.

Chucky Cheese where you could inform them about the surprise before hand. If you have children they would also have a good time along with your hubby.

Incidentally have you heard about the incident which involved a surprise party which was rated as one of the top 10 "Embrassing Moments", and which was posted and rated on the internet?.

"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our
vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"
