Was Euro a good idea?. The economies comprised in EUro are so diverse. Look at PIGS (Portugal, Spain, Italy and Greece) have very diverse economies and are the weakest amongst Euro countries. Spain and Portugal, the tyrants of 19th Century , are just sheep herding economies without any substance. They have been reaping benefits of Euro at cost of the third world contries. I will be happy if the Spain and Portugal suffer as they colonized the world and inflicted untold pains on Asian and Latin American countries. Some Economic pain will be good for them.

Fed Chair Ben Berniake has already stated to the senate panel that USA is also heading the Greece way if things do not look up.

Atleast for Greece, Europe can bail it out; but who can bail out USA other than China?.

USA is the Bank of the world (funded by the exporters of the world ...India Canada China included) .
The recession which may be a U or W shaped is half over, and the doomsday prophecy of USD is no where seen except marginal rise of currency against USD and of course Gold and Oil.


The reason the USD is still standing strong is because of structure of global trade which relies on US, and after all said and done US is still the back bone.

PS: Euro and GBP is loosing ground against USD
